Sampaguita, Toronto

After an amazing day at Niagra Falls, we drove into Toronto to find our hotel. After dropping our stuff we headed to Little Manila for dinner.

We decided upon Sampaguita, to satisfy our craving for Filipino food.

We, of course, ordered their famous krispy pata with house sauce and gravy. I chose a bowl of delicious kare kare, cooked in the classic Filipino peanut sauce with bagoong shrimp paste.

We added a bowl of steaming sinigang soup and a generous plate of pancit with a side of rice.

A feast !

Needless to say, we asked for a box to take the leftovers with us.

If you are in the area, I would highly recommend dropping into Sampaguita for a Filipino feast

Jeepney, East Village, New York City, USA.

After a long day exploring New York City, mainly on foot, we set course for Jeepney, an up-and-coming Filipino restaurant in the East Village.

The restaurant was packed, so we were offered stools at the bar. We ordered Bicol Express, ukoy, Filipino shrimp fritters and Adobong Hipon, prawns cooked in soy, vinegar, pepper and bay leaf.

We finished it all off with a bowl of Halo-Halo.
